1500 pt Imperial Guard

So, I playtested a few lists this past weekend against some pretty tough competition.

I played some variations on:
Swapped the Basilisks for Flamer Vets Vendetta vs AirCav

Primaris
Plasma x3 Grenadier Vets Chimera HF
Melta x2 Flamer x1 Vets Chimera HF
Flamer x3 Vets Vendetta SSHB
Hellhound MM Db
Executioner SSPlas HF
Executioner SSPlas HF
Basilisk x2

Game 1 vs Space Wolves Drop Pod Logan - Massacre

Game 2 vs Blood Angel Stormraven - Massacre turn 2 - no reserve...he restarted due to the wipe

Game 3 vs Blood Angel Stormraven - Major Victory turn 4 - he reserved...

Game 4 vs Imperial Guard AirCav - I got my ass handed to me...second game against this list.
I did better this time 0-4 KP vs 1-8 KP last game.

Game 5 vs Tau Farsight - Win KP, Loss Objective - Primaris and Vets kept Farsight in CC for 7 rounds.

Game 6 vs Blood Angel Astorath DeathCo Stormraven - Massacre turn 3

What I wanted to talk about was the AirCav list. I had this on paper last year when I was calculating what 'kind of Guard' I wanted to play. I didn't think it had enough firepower or resilience on paper.

AirCav:
CCS Plasma x4 Astropath
CCS Plasma x4 Master of Fleet
Vendetta SSHB x2

Flamer x3 Vets x2
Vendetta SSHB x2

Flamer x3 Vets x2
Vendetta SSHB x2

He had some other bells/whistles but essentially that was it.

Each 'unit' is 2 Vendettas putting out 6 TLLasC and 12 HB shots a turn. With the Astropath and reroll outflank it is extremely difficult to gauge the side to guard against.

This list is all about BOARD CONTROL period. After getting my ass handed to me two straight games in a row...I now see the missed potential of a list if you only look at it on paper.

I have gone over and over both games to see what happened. I didn't get any KP the second game.

I will be fielding a variation of this list in March and hopefully for awhile if it as successful for me...

What do you think of the IG AirCav or squadroned AirCav lists?
What are your experiences with them?
