Mech IG vs AirCav IG 1500 pts

I tried for REDEMPTION yesterday against the nigh unbeatable IG AirCav list.
For those unfamiliar with this list, it is a Codex IG version of Elysians.
His first version was 2 CCS. I like the Inq Lord and CCS. He opted not to give him Tarot, I would have.

1500 pts:
CCS Flamer x4, Astropath, Master of Fleet
Vet Plasma x2, Melta x1
x2 Vendetta SSHB

Inq Lord PHood, misc weapons, Mystic x2, Vet Melta x2
Vet Plasma x2, Melta x1
x2 Vendetta SSHB

x2 Vet Flamer x3
x2 Vendetta SSHB

That's it...seems easy enough right? Wrong. In order to get to the squishy goodness you have to get through a squadron of AV12...as most of you know AV12 is the peak of difficult to get through on the tabletop.

This isn't a real batrep, more like a recap.

Dawn of War, Capture and Control.
I won the roll, deferred to him. He reserved all, outflanking. his objective in left corner, my objective in opposite right corner.

I deployed HQ, Troops in Chimera on my objective.
I rolled on in a pincer attack. Half on each side. Vendetta Troop outflanking. Smoke what was in front.

Surprisingly...or not...he had everything come in turn 2. One squad left side CCS, Vet. Inq Lord, Vet right corner. 2 Troop right middle. I actually survived the brunt of his first wave, losing a Chimera and 1 of 2 Basilisks.

Compared to our first two games, I was already ahead of the curve.
First game 1-8 KP, second game 0-4 KP.

After turn 4...he had Inq Lord, Vet squad in right corner. 2 Troops in CC with my Vet Grenadiers. I controlled his objective.

His turn 5, he tried to shoot me off his objective and move to contest or claim mine.
I would have WON if it ended.

His turn 6, he tried again to shoot me off and now claimed mine.
It ended a DRAW on objectives and KP 4-4.
This is a WIN in my book against what I felt was an uphill battle.

We continued to turn 7 just to see...he cleared me off his objective, claimed mine and WON, KP 6-5.

4+ Vets are worth the points everytime.

I have a little tweaking to my list but I think I am ready for next weekend. I can handle Horde and Mech.
My target is the MEQ lists that will be there.

I fully expect to see the AirCav list at the top tables round 3...hopefully if I face it I can get a WIN.
